11.07.2022

BRAC Contracts has finished and delivered extensive improvements at Lockwood Way Industrial Estate in Waltham Forest.

BRAC won the £650,000 project through a competitive tender process, involving improvements to industrial units and the surrounding public area.

Lockwood Way Industrial Estate houses local businesses, including craft breweries and a vintage scooter specialist, in the Blackhorse Lane Creative Enterprise Zone.

The improvement work aims to enhance the area for both new and existing businesses.

The estate now boasts new attractive frontages, improved signage, artwork, wider footpaths, enhanced fencing, landscaping, and resurfaced roads. It brings to life a vision created by We Made That

BRAC’s MD, Adam Clark, comments:

“Identified as an area with significant investment potential, Lockwood Way held immense possibilities to not only undergo updates and enhance its attractiveness to current and potential tenants but also to actively integrate itself as a more integral part of the local community.

“Through the work that we’ve delivered against the vision outlined by the team at ‘We Made That’, the estate now has the potential to offer ‘after hours’ facilities and increase its vibrancy beyond all measure! We are delighted to have actively participated in such a significant project and eagerly look forward to witnessing the joy it brings.”

A block party on July 16, 2022, will celebrate Lockwood Way’s transformation with music, activities for children, and street food.

Conclusion, Councillor Ahsan Khan, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration at Waltham Forest Council, comments:

“Lockwood Way Industrial Estate has become a home for a broad variety of creatives, makers, and artisans who have transformed it into a bustling hub of culture and small businesses.

“We are thrilled to have partnered with We Made That and BRAC, alongside local businesses, to improve the area and leverage its rich heritage. Our collaboration aims to support the growth of new industries, facilitate their integration, and empower local up-and-coming talents to establish themselves.”

“The Lockwood Way project is an amazing opportunity to highlight the skills and services available in the borough, support local business growth and create jobs, and protect the breadth of creative diversity in the area.”
